Thus, You can visualize everyday the trends of navigation (of your community) and discover new sites which interest you. The " Best Sites " correspond to significant sites classified according to 4 categories: MapStan.net 's plan is displayed with an applet that communicates with a HTML page through scripts. If your browser's security options don't authorize this communication, the research tools can't work properly. With Internet Explorer, you can check if your browser authorizes "ActiveX controls recognized to be safe for scripts writing" (Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom level). MapStan Toolbar for Netscape uses DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to communicate with your Netscape Communicator browser in order to recognize your visited pages. When an application realizes DDE communications with this browser, a bug from Netscape messages manager shut down the browser at each HTML message creation. If this happens, you should: This problem only occurs when the display is TrueColor 32bits, it is the consequence of a bug in Netscape Java Virtual Machine. This problem does not exists with other display modes (24, 16, 8 bits). Yes. From the plan, you can click on the concerned website and choose " Delete " in the menu. A confirmation is requested. Be careful, this function deletes for real every sign of these websites in your historical. You can then immediately have access to this new plan integrating the deletion (F5 key into Internet Explorer). You will be able to reintegrate these websites into your historical by modifying your "Exclusion list" that you find on your plan or on MapStan.net website. MapStan.net service has just started; consequently, it is possible that you have a specific navigation that it not shared with other users. In this case, these websites on the small place correspond to websites that only you have visited. This situation will soon disappear with the increased number of users. Apparently, your navigation history stored in your browser was very small. You will now have to surf on the Internet. Your historical will progressively be more and more interesting with your navigation, and you will be able to beneficiate of a very rich MapStan.net plan fitting to your centers of interests. The function "Discover" enables you to visualize the web navigation plan of the users who visited a given site. This function is accessible since the plan (in the menu of each site), or since the page "Best Sites". You will thus discover nearest sites based on the internet users' experience. Indeed, MapStan.net does not use any preliminary classification which, by definition, would limit the discovery to already listed sites. Yes. To do this, you simply register several times with different e-mail addresses (e.g. work address and personal address). You then choose the profile used by MapStan.net in the "Identity" menu on the MapStan Toolbar. MapStan.net is not a search engine, but it lets you take advantage of the experience of Internet users who share your centers of interest. This means that as soon as you look up a site relating to a new subject, your plan incorporates the recommendations of Internet users on that subject. Yes, to do this you simply uncheck the "Register Navigation" option on the MapStan Toolbar. However, this is not recommended if you want to take advantage of the functionalities of MapStan.net.
